University energy leaders talk savings at UC Davis
On Sept 15, the Energy Conservation Office (ECO) held the first UC-wide Energy Summit UC Davis. The summit allowed energy managers from campuses throughout North America to network and share ideas, innovations and strategies to improve energy efficiency in campus buildings.
Accounting and Financial Services is finding new ways to save the university money, this time through the reorganization of the university’s supply chain; responsible for the acquisition, delivery and payment of goods and services purchased for the university.
Many labs on campus are now certified as “green labs” for their sustainable practices focused on conserving water and energy as well as reducing waste and harmful environmental impact.

The Finance, Operations and Administration division recently announced organizational changes, including long-anticipated succession plans for a few high-profile retirements.

When Brian Benchener and Steve Kynard started working together at UC Davis as construction electricians in 1995, they couldn’t have guessed that their time here would help cultivate a lifelong friendship.
