Managing a world-class research university with nearly 40,000 students and facilities throughout the state requires a lot of talented people — which is where you come in.
Welcome! Congratulations on your new role. You will play an important part as the latest addition to the division of Finance, Operations and Administration. Though our jobs vary from budget analyst to groundskeeper, parking attendant to HR recruiter, police officer to IT professional — we all share the same vision: We strive to make the university better every day.
To help guide us in our mission, we follow a set of values:
- We aim to advance sustainability in the resources we steward.
- We drive innovation to solve our greatest challenges.
- We exercise integrity in all that we do.
- We build community by embracing our diversity.

Being a UC Davis staff member
Every UC Davis staff member is also a member of Staff Assembly, which is part of the university’s shared governance system as one of its five constituent organizations (the others are the Academic Senate, Academic Federation and two student associations). Staff Assembly hosts meetings, social events, a newsletter, staff awards and scholarships. It is also organizes the annual Thank Goodness for Staff (TGFS) picnic.
The UC Davis Front Door website welcomes new employees with information about relocating to our region, housing programs, setting up a new commute and other tips for new employees.
All UC Davis employees receive the weekly Dateline email, which provides news for both faculty and staff, including featured news articles, press releases, campus announcements, upcoming events and more. See the email archive or read some of its recent articles.
