Welcome to FOA

Managing a world-class research university with nearly 40,000 students and facilities throughout the state requires a lot of talented people — which is where you come in.

Welcome! Congratulations on your new role. You will play an important part as the latest addition to the division of Finance, Operations and Administration. • We drive innovation to solve our greatest challenges.

  • We build community by embracing our diversity.

Remote and flexible work guide: The Flexible Workplace Guide from UC Davis HR includes directions for creating your flexible work arrangement if you will be working a non-traditional schedule, off-site, hybrid or other alternative work arrangements.

Sign up for email newsletters: The Campus Newsletter Directory hosted by Human Resources is useful for any UC Davis employee, but especially for new staff members who are curious to connect and find more information about their favorite UC Davis groups and topics.

Being a UC Davis staff member

Every UC Davis staff member is also a member of Staff Assembly, which is part of the university’s shared governance system as one of its five constituent organizations (the others are the Academic Senate, Academic Federation and two student associations). Staff Assembly hosts meetings, social events, a newsletter, staff awards and scholarships. It is also organizes the annual Thank Goodness for Staff (TGFS) picnic.

The UC Davis Front Door website welcomes new employees with information about relocating to our region, housing programs, setting up a new commute and other tips for new employees.

All UC Davis employees receive the weekly Dateline email, which provides news for both faculty and staff, including featured news articles, press releases, campus announcements, upcoming events and more. See the email archive or read some of its recent articles.
