With Crowdfund UC Davis underway, I’m reminded once again of the incredible generosity that fuels the Staff Emergency Fund. 

Since 2020, this fund has provided nearly $375,000 in vital assistance to hundreds of staff members facing unexpected financial hardships. 

The outpouring of support for our colleagues, year after year, truly reflects the heart and spirit of UC Davis.

At UC Davis, we know that people are the driving force behind everything we do and the Staff Emergency Fund speaks volumes about how UC Davis treats staff in need. I’m proud that we’re building a place where people feel a sense of belonging, and a workplace where people can thrive.

The personal stories we hear from recipients remind us just how meaningful this support is. One staff member shared, “This act of caring goes a long way, and I won’t forget to give when I’m in a better financial position."

This year, units have once again demonstrated their commitment to the Staff Emergency Fund. We are incredibly grateful for the generous contributions already pledged by UC Davis Health and Medical Center, School of Medicine and School of Nursing, Finance, Operations and Administration, Student Affairs, Information and Educational Technology, and the UC Davis Library.

While the impact of their pledges is substantial, the need among our colleagues remains significant.

Your contribution can help extend this vital support to even more staff members who are facing challenges—whether it’s sudden medical expenses, unexpected travel for family emergencies, or other unforeseen financial burdens. The generosity of our community has already made an incredible difference, and with your help, we can do even more.
