Dear Colleagues,

As the fires in Los Angeles County continue to impact lives, businesses, and landscapes, our heartfelt thoughts are with everyone affected.

Currently, we have six members from the UC Davis Fire Department who are engaged in the firefighting efforts. Our firefighters are working tirelessly under challenging conditions to manage the blazes. Interim Fire Chief Nate Hartinger is also in LA, providing support to our sister campus at UCLA.

  • βšͺ New stop signs coming to La Rue Road

  • Starting Jan. 20, new rumble strips and stop signs will be added to La Rue Road in order to address high speeds near Garrod Drive and Bioletti Way and enhance safety for all modes of transportation. See an interactive map of all the changes.

  • Recognize exceptional staff contributions and impact in 2024 by nominating a colleague or supervisor for the Chancellor’s Outstanding Staff Awards. Submit a nomination by Jan. 24.

FOA leaders selected for UC-Coro Leadership Collaborative

Three leaders from Admin IT, Facilities Management and Safety Services and were selected to participate in this prestigious, yearlong program to further their leadership skills and address a systemwide challenge. Read profiles of each leader.

Help make campus safer and brighter

Join the annual Campus Safety Lighting Walk, hosted by Facilities Management and UC Davis Police, to help identify areas with insufficient or obstructed light and inform future planning. Show up before 5 p.m. on Jan. 22 for free pizza, swag and to join the walk.
