Colors

Color plays an important role in FOA’s identity. A palette of both primary and secondary colors has been developed by the university; FOA uses these colors throughout all our communications. Consistent use of these colors will contribute to the cohesive and harmonious look of the FOA brand identity across all relevant media.

 

Primary UC Davis Colors

FOA uses the UC Davis official colors: Aggie Blue and Aggie Gold. These colors help us maintain brand consistency with the university. As a general rule, blue and gold should be the dominant color palette for all external communications.

FOA Unit Accent Colors

While blue and gold are our primary colors, FOA also uses a palette of complementary, secondary colors. For internal communications, each operating unit within FOA has a unique accent color. You can see the accent colors in action in the FOA Organizational Chart

  • Accent colors can be seen on department websites and internal communications. The color selected for each operating unit can also be found in the FOA Organizational Chart.
  • Use accent colors sparingly. Use them to accent and support the blue and gold color palette.

When to use primary vs. accent colors?

When in doubt, use blue and gold. As a general rule, blue and gold should be the dominant color palette for all external communications. Your letterhead and slide deck templates use FOA accent colors and have been designed with internal communications in mind.
