Communications Intern
- Communications
Working at FOA Vice Chancellor’s Office provided me with my first real experience working in a professional environment. This internship has taught me invaluable workplace skills while making a difference in the day-to-day lives of the campus community members.
As the FOA Vice Chancellor Office intern, I am the first point of contact to people entering the office. I enjoy greeting people and developing my professional network with my peers. Getting to know the talented members of FOA has opened the door to other opportunities to work and learn with different departments.
I am also an intern for FOA Communications Team as a Marketing and Communications intern. In this role I provide communication support to the Finance and Business units and the UC Davis Police Department. Here I am able to see the impact of my work and learn new skills, such as web management and content writing.
Working in both settings has undoubtedly been one of the most rewarding and insightful experiences offered at UC Davis. These roles have helped me grow professionally and refine what field of employment best suits me.
- Featured Projects
- K-9 Unit - A significant contribution I made to UC Davis Police Department’s Outreach Program webpages. Refreshing this content has taught me to write with purpose as well as the value of clear communication to ensure work efficiency. I enjoyed writing about the K-9s and knowing that I could bring a voice to their stories.
- Internship Program - This was my first major project that I took the lead in planning. The creation of this webpage honed my organizational skills and task management as well as teaching me basic website development. It was fun to collaborate with so many people to complete this project.
