Welcome to FOA Web Editor Resources
If you edit a SiteFarm website in FOA, even occasionally, this space is for you.
FOA websites are a little different from the rest of campus
Our content isn’t focused on academic programs or student life - it’s about services, operations, and keeping UC Davis running. That means our web editors are different, too. You’re analysts, administrative staff, unit experts doing great work to make the university better every day. You’re not web designers, and you don’t have time to become one.
That’s why this section exists: to give you quick answers, practical tips, and a direct connection to the FOA Communications team when you need support.
Tips, How-Tos, and the Team Behind It
I’m Duke McAdow, and I help manage our division’s 40+ websites as part of the FOA Communications team. While I’m your primary contact for websites, I'm one part of a team of creative, experienced people, including writers and designers who know FOA and SiteFarm inside and out. Together, we’re here to offer support, guidance, and ideas to help you keep your site in great shape.
I’ll be updating this space regularly with how-tos, shortcuts, and things I’ve learned that might save you time or frustration. Some posts will be bite-sized. Others will offer more in-depth guidance for editing, accessibility, and managing your site with confidence.
I hope you’ll check back often! And if you haven’t already, subscribe to our email list to get updates sent directly to your inbox. As always, don’t hesitate to reach out. There are no dumb questions here.
