Matthew Okamoto was named the Assistant Vice Chancellor–University Controller at UC Davis in February 2018 and is responsible for a broad range of accounting and financial services including student and general accounting, controls & accountability, tax reporting and compliance, research accounting, cashiering, payroll services and financial systems.

A Certified Public Accountant, he received his MBA from The Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College, in Hanover, NH and his BS with a concentration in Accounting from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. Okamoto has held senior corporate financial positions at Intel Corporation in Sacramento since 1996, most recently as Finance Director/Controller of the company’s multi-billion dollar Connected Home and Commercial Client business unit.
