Job Opportunity: Communications and Marketing Student Intern - STDT 4
Quick Summary
- FOA Communications is hiring a student intern who can collaboratively work with others and bring their unique perspective to various communication projects.
We are looking for a student who is curious, creative and excited to learn. You will help us create and publish content across our websites, emails and social platforms. Some days you will write a story. Other days you will update a webpage or help plan a campaign. No two weeks are the same—and that is part of the fun.
You will work closely with our communications and web teams, attend team meetings, and bring the student voice to our work. We value collaboration, experimentation and thoughtful communication.
Expect to grow your skills in:
- Writing and editing content for a variety of formats and platforms.
- Supporting website updates and making content more user-friendly.
- Participating in digital campaigns and social engagement
- Organizing and prioritizing tasks in a real-world team setting.
- Thinking critically about what makes content effective, clear and accessible.
This is a paid part-time position with flexible hours during the academic year, and optional work over the summer up to full time.
We will ask for a writing sample as part of the interview process.
You do not need to be an expert—we are here to help you learn. That said, we would love to work with someone who:
- Enjoys writing and is eager to improve.
- Pays attention to details and cares about doing quality work.
- Is curious, reliable and open to feedback.
- Communicates clearly and respectfully with a variety of people.
- Is comfortable with basic digital tools (like Google Docs, Sheets, Microsoft Word).
- Likes working independently but is not afraid to ask questions.
- Has an interest in websites, storytelling, marketing or social media.
- Bonus: Knows AP Style or has experience editing web content—but again, not required.
We know no one has everything on the list. If you are interested, we encourage you to apply and tell us what you are excited to learn!
