After a lot of hard work from various units, spearheaded by the Facilities Management Green Buildings team, Shields Library has received LEED Gold certification. Efforts from Facilities Management, updating lighting to more efficient bulbs and improving the HVAC systems, and from the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden, replacing lawn with low-water landscapes, contributed to this high ranking in sustainability. Support the Firefighters Burn Institute, a burn treatment facility at the UC Davis Medical Center, by participating in the ongoing virtual pancake breakfast fundraiser hosted by UC Davis Fire Department Student Firefighters. The fundraiser will run through June 15. Find out more and donate.
