Matthew Okamoto was named assistant vice chancellor and university controller at UC Davis in February 2018. He is responsible for a broad range of accounting and financial services including student and general accounting, controls and accountability, tax reporting and compliance, research accounting, cashiering, payroll services and financial systems.

Okamoto has held senior corporate financial positions at Intel Corporation in Sacramento since 1996, most recently as Finance Director/Controller of the company’s multi-billion dollar Connected Home and Commercial Client business unit.

A Certified Public Accountant, he received his M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College and his B.S. with a concentration in accounting from the University of the Pacific.
