As Director of Corporate Relations at UC Davis, Mona leads a team which functions as key coordinators between the business community and the University to build comprehensive partnerships of mutual benefit. Through this role, she develops and manages corporate partnership opportunities and matches University assets to the needs of industry. The office Mona manages reports to the Office of Research, and serves as a UC Davis-wide resource, working with academic and administrative leadership, faculty, staff, development officers and others to advance UC Davis' priorities through increased investment from corporations. She has been engaged in the development of systems to promote and expand new and emerging research initiatives and the advancement of industry alliances to support these initiatives at UC Davis for over 20 years, working in many offices across campus including University Development, University Relations, Graduate Studies and Outreach, Office of Research and the Offices of the Provost and Chancellor.
Prior to becoming Director of Corporate Relations, she led Industry Research Alliances within the technology transfer group of the campus, working to mobilize the campus academic resources and technology innovation assets to support industry-university partnerships. Mona has a Master's in Public Health from UC Berkeley and a B.A. in Biological Sciences from UC Santa Barbara. Mona was also a Peace Corps volunteer (PCV) in Togo, West Africa for three years working on a public health water sanitation project, where she met her husband Bruce, a fellow PCV.
