Inaugural Exploration Committee
Julie Auger is the Associate Director of the Campus Core Facilities Program. Ms. Auger is responsible for development of a central support structure for organization and administration of the UC Davis shared research facilities resulting in financial stabilization of cores, transparency in funding subsidies to facilities, improvement of under-performing operations by providing best-practices and strategic planning and improved recruitment and retention of expert personnel. Along with the Faculty Director of the CCFP, Klaus van Benthem and under the leadership of Vice Chancellor for Research, Harris Lewin, she determines priorities for investment in new technologies, Cores, and services at the University of California Davis.
Ms. Auger has broad experience in the operation and administration of multi-technology, multidisciplinary academic resource centers in support of institutional research missions, both at the bench and in the conference room. Julie developed her core facility management expertise at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and at the University of Chicago where she developed internationally reputed flow cytometry core facilities before applying her change management skills at the institutional level. In her most recent positions, she was Executive Director of the Research Resource Program at UCSF. She was also previously Executive Director of the Office of Shared Research Facilities at the University of Chicago.
