Event Promotion

Building a culture of safety on campus that all levels of staff, students and faculty can relate to led to promoting National Safety Month, with the goal of having all-inclusive events. Involving safety partners on campus gives multiple departments the opportunity to share the important work they do.

Web Design

Analysis of visitor behavior led to simplified navigation menus and re-designed home page, with the goal of making it easier for visitors to find what they need. A successful application of “Bridge Theme" aligns with main campus website design. Update helps visitors and staff adjust to planned large-scale redesign of entire website in 2017-18.

Event Planning

Just before midnight on May 24, over 200 Facilities Management and Police Department employees who work the night shifts, enjoyed dinner and prizes at an event coordinated by FOA Communications. From venue reservations and promotions, to meal ordering and centerpiece design – the FOA Comms team helped ensure the room was full of guests and that they enjoyed themselves once there.

Fundraising Campaign

This year the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden participated in the campus’s premiere annual giving day – UC Davis Give Day on April 21 – as well as the Sacramento region’s Big Day of Giving on May 4. Together these two fundraisers were branded as one – Waterway WOW! The goal of the campaign was to raise $50K to support additional needs for the Arboretum’s Waterway Enhancement and Maintenance Project. FOA Comms drafted a communications plan, created collateral including print, digital and video marketing pieces, coordinated supporting events, directed multiple media placements, and promoted the event throughout the region. The campaign closed after raising $68K and continues to be a tool for ongoing donor communication and stewardship.

Arboretum Waterway Maintenance and Enhancement Project

The Arboretum Waterway is a community amenity that also happens to be the largest part of our campus’s stormwater infrastructure system. The Arboretum and Public Garden recently embarked on a multi-year project to maintain and enhance this important campus icon. To support this highly-visible, long-term project FOA Comms staff developed a communications plan, created graphics for outdoor signage and digital media, coordinated and promoted supporting informational events, targeted audiences adjacent to the project with direct mail, managed multiple media placements, adapted to changing messaging needs, and now continue to inform engaged campus and community members on the project’s progress.
